From the desk of Joel Cummins:
What’s up, everyone? Hope you’re all well. We’re beyond excited to be making our return to the fantastic Morris Center for Performing Arts in South Bend this Sunday. Coming back to home to where we started it all means a lot to us and to many of you; we can’t believe it’s been 10 years. So we came up with a cool idea to make the show a little more fun & to give back to the community that has given so much to us.
A couple months ago, a good friend of mine from Notre Dame approached me about a new business called Juke he was involved in that was started by ND grad Griffin Eaton. The idea is similar to parts of our fan-driven event UMBowl . . . the fans get to help select a song or songs of a show by donating to a cause of the artist’s choice. So we figured why not give it a shot by letting you pick the encore for our return home and help us raise some money for the South Bend Center for the Homeless, where I volunteered for two years when we lived in South Bend.
We’ll start the voting by allowing nearly every original song to be a contestant. Then on show day, we’ll take the top 10 vote-getters and let everyone vote again on them all the way through the 2nd set. Which tune are you gonna pick? We look forward to having a great time in South Bend and to help make a positive impact on the city we love so much. Here’s the link so you can pick a great encore and help make a difference at the same time: juke.band/umphreysmcgee.
