Black Out Tuesday

As we stand with the music industry in observing Black Out Tuesday, we turn our attention away from UM and towards all communities experiencing racial injustices.

UM is deeply troubled by the systemic racism that remains so prevalent across this country. Our hearts break for the families of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and the countless other victims of senseless brutality that continues to permeate our society. The severity of this moment must not be taken lightly, and this message is merely a first step towards a more peaceful future.

Let us all reflect on the ways we can be part of a solution that is long overdue. We will continue to listen, be open, and try to inspire positive change. If we expect more from our society, we must hold each other to a higher standard.

While we gather with our industry peers to discuss how we can do better, we share our support for the Equal Justice Initiative and Campaign Zero, two non-profits challenging racial and economic injustice.
