Meet Darby
Meet Darby Mitchell. Part time student, part time artist, & full time daughter of our Front of House Engineer, Chris Mitchell. At 18 years old, she officially becomes our youngest poster artist to date.

Darby designed this week’s poster for our three night run at First Avenue in Minneapolis. And we dig.
Our esteemed colleague and longtime UM designer Kyle Baker advised and printed the posters.

Limited edition of 150 prints. 5 screens, sized 18″x24″.
Available at the merchandise table at First Avenue (4/27 – 4/29).
Here is a peak into some of the talented Darby’s other work.
A Flinching Scent of Grey
“Done with charcoal. Using that medium was a spur-of-the-moment thing, but I love it because it’s so versatile.”
Last Rites
“Done with acrylic paint. It’s also huge; about four feet by three and a half feet.”
Phunk
“I painted with coffee, which I found a lot easier to work with than I initially thought. Coffee is like a super-diluted watercolor when you paint with it; plus, that painting smells amazing.”
Hues
“Made with neon acrylic paint. I think it has the most similarity to my Umphrey’s poster, color and image-wise. I painted it with neons purely so I could see it glow under a blacklight.”
