Few festival sites bring the audience, performers, nature, and art together like Electric Forest can. There is an undeniable yet intangible magic in the air at EFF, everyone feels it. In 2009 on this same site in Rothbury, Umphrey’s McGee played two late night shows that many fans describe as pinnacles of the band’s career — taking music into the stratosphere for nearly 20,000 enraptured fans after the Dead and Bob Dylan. The year we decided to bring Umphrey’s back for a rare visit to Rothbury, Michigan for Electric Forest to give our most loyal Michigan fans a chance to see us in their home state.
