Update 11/09/12

We wanted to update this entry as it’s come to light that our previous post needed some clarification. While it is true that on average only 15% of you are seeing our regular posts, that does not have any correlation to Facebook’s new promoted (paid) posts. But we do suggest you follow the instructions below if you want a little more umph in your life.

As Facebook policies continue to “evolve”, we want to make sure our fans are in the know as you may not be getting all the UM updates you’d like.

Facebook is now making bands PAY to promote posts, meaning fans who have willingly opted in to our updates aren’t seeing most of them. On average, only 10%-15% of fans are seeing regular UM updates appear in your newsfeed, as they are being blocked unless we pay it.  We’re assuming that most of you would like to see a bit more than that.

Moving forward, in order to receive all our messages/posts/absurdities, you must do the following:

1) Go to the https://facebook.com/umphreysmcgee page.

2) Hover your mouse over where it says “LIKED” and click on “ADD TO INTERESTS LISTS”. (You can easily create a “new list” if don’t yet have any)

By doing this, you will be able to see ALL posts by UM in your news feed! Please help spread the word by sharing this post.
