Hey everyone, hope the summer’s been treating you well. Welcome to our new blog home!

I’ve been hangin’ out at home working on topics, keyboards & music theory for our 1st ever sUMmer school, which starts in just 4 days. It’s true, this will be the most in-depth and unique 5 day event we’ve ever done, digging into what makes us tick as a band while giving the students an opportunity to expand their musical horizons, create music with each other…..and with us! It’s been a great time trying to come up with what’s at the heart of Umphrey’s McGee and for the first time really communicate it in depth to the rest of the world. It’s shaping up to be a mild week weather wise, which will also bode well for the indoor-outdoor nature of our event. We also have a few extra perks that I think are going to make everyone quite happy – some are musical, some non-musical. If you don’t have anything to do next week, it’s not too late. We’d love to have you, entertain you & teach you what we’re all about.

If you’d rather just be an East coast weekend warrior, then come out to see a raging two set Umphrey’s McGee show at one of our favorite haunts, Higher Ground in Burlington or be there for our concert debut at beautiful Klein Theater in Bridgeport. Finally, our friend & virtuoso guitarist Stanley Jordan will join us for part of our set at moe.down Sunday to close out what will undoubtedly be an epic week for Umphrey’s McGee.
