Umphrey's McGee approaches everything with an evolutionary eye. What's next? How do we alter events and experiences to continue to enhance them? What changes could we make to better suit the wants of our fan base?
We weren't exactly sure how sUMmer school 2012 would unfold until we kicked the tires. While thrilled with the results, we've decided to get back under the hood and see what else we can enhance.
Many of you are die hard music fans and passionate about all things Umphrey's but you're just a beginner or don't play an instrument at all. You're interested in the inner workings of the band and have a list of questions you'd love to ask the guys. You want to know about the song writing, the lyric writing, the improvisation, but you also want share that intimate experience that you get at an amazing summer camp. You want a little more hang and a little less school. And you want to see the four most intimate, private Umphrey's shows of the year.
You've asked and we're listening.
sUMmer school 2013 is evolving to suit your wants. Envision this as a private festival with a twist. There will still be loads of music instruction, workshops and lessons throughout the days but with more of an emphasis on spending quality time with team UM during a myriad of leisure activities. This isn't your typical school, camp, or retreat. This is access to all facets of Umphrey's McGee with the added benefit of amazing food, amenities, and pristine surroundings.
And now for the part you really want to here. We're altering the camping pass to an absurdly low $599. You'll get four days & four nights of all things Umphrey's, three incredible meals a day, serene camping in the Catskills, and a staff at your disposal that will knock your socks off. Hit us with any questions at summerschool@umphreys.com and come sign up for a week you'll never forget. You won't regret it.

sUMmer school is excited to welcome our good friend and internationally recognized saxophonist Jeff Coffin. Jeff will join us on Tuesday June 18th, hosting his own workshop as well as joining the band during that night's performance. Jeff is an accomplished saxophonist, bandleader, composer and educator and has been traveling the globe since the late 20th Centruy. He is a 3x Grammy Award winner from Bela Fleck & the Flecktones and played with them from 1997-2010. IN July 2008, Jeff began touring with Dave Matthews Band and officially joined the group in 2009. When not on the road with DMB, Coffin fronts his own group Jeff Coffin & the Mu'tet.
