New Year's Eve Run Poster and UMLive Packages Announced

As in years past, we are offering special New Years Eve limited edition poster prints and UMLive CDs from each of the three nights. Starting December 18th at 12:00 pm CST, you can secure your pre-order for the three-night poster series along with UMLive CDs. The earlier you place your poster package order for $100.00, the lower your matching poster numbers will be! As for the UMLive pre-order, you may purchase them individually for each night, or even better, order the three-night package for just $60.00.

The first 250 folks that order the full UMLive package will also receive a priority voucher signed by the band! By purchasing either the three-night packages for posters or the UMLive CD package (or both!) you will be entered into a contest to win a pair of VIP tickets to Summercamp 2010.

In what has become a Chicago tradition, Umphrey's McGee returns to the legendary Aragon Ballroom for a string of year-end performances. This year the band performs on December 30th and New Year's Eve at the Aragon, and will play an intimate "warm-up" performance on December 29th at the Vic Theatre.

For the 2009 end-of-year run Umphrey's McGee have invited two of the biggest names in electronic music to join them for what is sure to be another set of amazing shows: Z-Trip on December 30th and Prefuse 73 on New Year's Eve. Umphrey's has also put together a special horn section for their New Year's Eve performance - featuring Dave Matthews Band saxophonist Jeff Coffin.

Having played opening sets for some of the biggest rock acts around (like the Rolling Stones) Z-Trip recently performed legendary sets at some of the biggest American festivals, namely Bonnaroo and Coachella. Umphrey's is excited to have Z-Trip, "America's Best DJ" for 2009 (DJ Times), join them on the 30th.

On New Year's Eve, legendary DJ and producer Prefuse 73 will open for Umphrey's McGee with a "live set," and will stick around to keep the party moving with DJ sets during the UM set breaks. Called "Artist of the Decade" by Better Propaganda, Prefuse 73 was handpicked by Umphrey's McGee as their special New Year's Eve musical guest.

Tickets are $30.00 for December 29th at The Vic and are only available as part of a three-show pass; tickets are $32.50 for December 30 and $65.00 for New Year's Eve at the Aragon. All tickets go on sale this Saturday, October 3rd at 10:00am through ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster ticket centers, or charge by phone 800.745.3000. Showtime on December 29th and 30th is 8:00pm; show time on New Year's Eve is 7:30pm. Ages 18 and over are welcome for all three shows. Tickets to the Vic Theatre 12.29 show are available as a part of a three-show ticket package.

2009 has been a very good year for Umphrey's. The band released "Mantis" (on Inauguration Day) to praise by fans and critics alike and played to sell-out crowds around the country. The band continues to be an enduring live act -- the band will end up performing more than 100 shows this year.

Over the course of the past nine New Year's celebrations, we have called many of Chicago's finest venues our home. For our tenth New Year's Eve in Chicago, we revisit two venues where we've had many memorable nights together in years past. We will celebrate the end of another great year beginning with an intimate show at the Vic Theatre on Tuesday December 29th, 2009. We then return to the Aragon Ballroom for the final two nights of 2009, Wednesday December 30th and Thursday December 31st . In true NYE tradition, we will be performing a three-set show on December 31st. Our friends at CID Entertainment will again offer special travel packages this year, which will include tickets to all three shows, posters, UMLive CDs from each show, a special NYE fleece, hotel accommodations at the James Hotel, and much more.
